Some questions frequently asked by users : open question: will my standard of living decline under trump?
when obama was inaugurated 1/2009 i still had three payments left on my 2003 chevy s-10 pickup. the only way i could afford it was to stretch it out to six years, and by 2007, it was a struggle. i was/am a flooring contractor. fast forward to 2011, things are going like gangbusters. my annual sales were double. my income was almost double. i purchase a chevy colorado to replace the old s-10, as a side note, a very nice truck. i paid that off in 4 years with no problem. i supplemented it with a chevy silverado 1500 v6 that actually gets about the same as the colorado does with the 5 cylinder. i was making payments on both for 3 or 4 months. didn t matter. i have me and a helper out on a job and two more on another job at any given time. no layoffs, no problem working 40-45 hours per week. i pay may guys $17-18 per hour these days. i think nothing of it. life has never been this good for me. i know what it was like to get government cheese in the early 1980 s as a young adult struggling to survive. i ve come a long way. the young guys that work for me have it way better than i ever did. my question is this, will my success, that really didn t start happening until 2010-2011 continue or is it soon to be over? i live being middle class. i don t think i could handle being poor again.
ford edge, flex and taurus x all the same vehicle?
as 2009 models begin to appear in the showrooms of all the dealers across the nation, one can't help but wonder what direction ford is taking, with the introduction of the three particular models in question. my personal opinion regarding the most recent introduction, the flex looks more like a cross between a honda element and a scion. in short, to me it looks hideous, putting it lightly. but more importantly, is it needed? let's see now, we have the edge, which is supposed to meet the current market trend for those who desire a "crossover" vehicle. we also have the taurus x, which is only a rebadged freestyle, and now the flex too. all three vehicles utilize the exact same 3.5l v6 mated to a 6f50 6 speed automatic. all three vehicles share very similar interior dimensions for its passengers, as well as their cargo, with the flex offering the highest of the three for its cargo. am i alone in thinking that they have too many models in this one class alone? what about the cars that have been hugely successful for fomoco? the crown victoria/grand marquis/lincoln town car is easily the most reliable vehicle ever made. how many would agree with me? that being said, why would they not consider updating them, with the 4.6l 3-valve v8 and 6r75 6-speed automatic then? how many agree that this is something that ford should be doing? how many of you would be willing to sign a petition (along with your chequebook) for ford to continue producing these vehicles, instead of "talking about" its demise? do you remember when the probe was originally intended to be the replacement for the mustang back in 1986? how many mustang enthusiasts voiced their outrage at such a consideration? instead, the '87 to '93 model years were introduced which sold and sold and sold. how about ford's lincoln division? what's with all the "mk" models coming out? mk this, mk that. it's actually getting a little confusing here. why won't they bring back their trademark nameplates, like the continental and the mark (and i don't mean the mark truck)? all of this is bearing in mind that i am, and will always be a huge ford fan.
16 yr old girl driving 5speed?
my dad is thinking about getting me a truck, i ain't really that type of girl who wants anything expensive and new. i like older cars and trucks. i know how to ride a manual bike and it's really the same and the truck just your clutch is pushed with your foot.. i really want a 1980s toyota pick up 4x4 lifted, idk about flat bed cause i want to get a roll bar on it too. this would be my second truck tho, i had a 1976 chevy and it wasn't registers yet idk if a toyota would be a good offical truck for what i'm looking for
